Data Cables

Data Cables join your crafting blocks into one network and carry power between them. Any two cables join.
Cables hold no power and have no speed limit. Whatever a generator or Power Interface pushes into one goes straight to the machines on the network that need it. It is made from iron, redstone and an amethyst shard, and each recipe makes 8 cables.
Good to know
- Machines only get power from a cable, a generator or a Power Interface they touch. Touching machines don't pass power on to each other.
- Machines that simply touch each other form a network too, with no cable at all.
- Water and other fluids can't wash a cable or its ports away.
- Different players' networks never join.
- Cables don't count toward the machine limit.
See networks for the rules in full.
Thin ports
- A cable can carry up to six thin ports, one on each face: Access Ports, item ports, Storage Ports and Power Interfaces.
- Breaking the cable leaves its thin ports in place, with what is in them. They stay off the network until you place a cable into the space again.
