Override Link

An Encoding Terminal links Decks for the whole network. An Archive links one player's Deck for itself alone, with its Override Link window.
Network link and Archive link
- The Deck Link window on an Encoding Terminal pairs a player's Deck with the network. A paired Deck gets the Network tab, autocrafting, ports and Deck to Deck.
- An Archive backs up the owner's Deck. The Override Link window changes that for this Archive only, and not for the network or any other Archive.
Overriding an Archive
- Trust the player at an Encoding Terminal and have them pair their Deck there.
- Open the Archive and press the Override Link key on its right.
- Put their Deck in the left slot and take it from the right.
Only that player can then back up and recover on this Archive. The owner and the other trusted players can look. Picking another player clears the backups.
Going back
Reset gives the Archive back to the owner's Deck. Resetting from another player's Deck clears the backups.
Good to know
- Only the owner can override an Archive.
- The key is dimmed while the owner is the only player on the network. Trust someone first.
- Replace a lost Deck for the same player and the backups stay.
