Befriending Bitlings

You find a Basic Bitling in the wild and make friends with it.

Where they live

• Well-lit grass in the Overworld. They turn up now and then.
• Never in oceans, rivers, beaches, deserts, badlands, mushroom fields, caves or the Deep Dark.
• They stay where they are, even when you walk away.

Growing crystals draw them in. While you are near Seeded Amethyst, a Bitling sometimes wanders over for a look and stays around the crystals for a few minutes. None comes while another wild Bitling is close.

Making friends

• Hand it a Logic, Memory or Link Chip. An Advanced one works too. It looks the chip over, nods and turns into a Basic Bitling item at its feet.
• Blank and unquenched chips only get a shake of the head.
• Hand it a Data Crystal instead and it eats the crystal and follows you for about 30 seconds. It stops if you get more than 24 blocks ahead.

Hit one and it runs off. If it is knocked out, it vanishes in a puff and leaves nothing behind.
